Today Thursday September 6th will be a day completely dedicated to fashion. Not only does the NY Fashion Week kick off, but there’s also one of the biggest fashion events WORLDWIDE taking place: VOGUE FASHION’S NIGHT OUT!
And, we’ll have the HONOR of having one of our favorite brands, 100% from El Salvador, present at such an important event: THE P. BY PATY CASTILLO.
We have talked about theP. on this blog before. For those of you that missed it, you can check it out HERE.
TheP., just shy of celebrating its first anniversary, is present in countries like El Salvador and Honduras under an exclusive multi-brand store, and in Mexico as an exclusive concept store named Common People, located in Polanco, one of the trendiest parts of the capital.
Just last year, Common People joined one of the most famous fashion events in the world: VOGUE FASHION’S NIGHT OUT. This initiative was born in 2009 and arrived in Mexico in 2011. FNO is originally a global initiative created with the idea of celebrating fashion, restoring confidence on consumers and reactivating the fashion industry. It succeeded in creating a huge impact and becoming the renowned event it is today. Nowadays we all look to celebrate it as a day in which cities are filled with fashion, fashion houses and stores overflowed with events, cocktails, runways, limited editions, and special appearances by designers and artists, among others. It’s a night when fashion is the main guest. In addition, a part of the proceeds from the night’s sales of official FNO pieces is donated to a special cause.
In the United States, FNO is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company y the City of New York.
So, how did theP. get to produce a limited edition piece?
Common People suggested certain brands that are inside their store to Vogue Mexico for approval, and that is how to THE P. is asked to provide a limited edition design for this special night. Common People sent the design to Vogue Mexico which they fantastically approved for production, thus granting them the privilege of becoming the first Salvadorean brand to design a limited edition piece for the event. THE P. proceeded to develop the piece and do a photo shoot with an amazing team of people, both photographer and model, who gave birth to the limited edition piece by TheP. These photos were sent to Vogue Mexico for publication in their official site.
Vogue Mexico is the one responsible for approving limited editions, participating brands and upcoming events.
In addition to the limited edition piece, Vogue Mexico also approved a catwalk to be held within Common People as one of the special events that night. On September 6 TheP. will fill Common People with its unique aesthetic and style.
